AOF/Pacific coordinates and monitors various services provided to the residents of our affordable housing complexes. Our goal is for the apartment complexes to provide services and linkages to resources within each local community that will enable our residents to live a better life. We use feedback from residents and on-site management to help develop programs that compliment the current interests of the residents as well as help them to discover new ones.
The services provided vary based on the needs and facilities of each apartment complex. After-school programs for resident children include tutoring and reading assistance, as well as sports and other recreational activities to keep the children active and engaged. Computer training is offered to improve the skills of both children and adults. We believe that providing computers and access to the Internet allows residents to stay abreast of job opportunities as well as obtain training and education that might not otherwise be available to them. Outings are organized to various local points of interest including amusement parks, theaters, museums, and sporting events. Based on the interests of our residents, Speakers from local businesses come and discuss topics ranging from health care to education and financial responsibility. We partner with Community Reinvestment Act Officers to arrange credit counseling and first time home buyers training sessions for residents interested in home ownership Management also provides assistance in locating convenient, affordable childcare facilities for those parents in need of childcare. Several of our complexes have contracted with All Things are Possible After School & Family Resource Centers to run their resident services programs.
To us, successful senior living is about choice, dignity, and quality of life. That is why we provide a combination of comfortable accommodations and access to various outings and activities at our senior housing complexes. Research has proven that people never lose the ability to benefit from exercise, and that personal fitness is a critical factor in maintaining an independent and active lifestyle. Therefore, we encourage our senior residents to optimize their health by providing work-out facilities and offering fitness activities and classes that will broaden their awareness and improve their health. Our complexes also offer a wide variety of social, cultural, and recreational activities including book groups, card games, cooking classes, as well as outings to sporting events, museums, restaurants, and theaters. The programs are designed specifically to meet the wide-ranging interests and needs of each apartment complex and to help develop a sense of belonging within the community
